19 February | Pokhara, Gandaki Province – Under the coordination of the National Assembly and with technical support from World Health Organization (WHO), Country Office for Nepal, the Ministry of Health and Population today organized an interaction program with honorable members of the 7 Provincial Assemblies at Pokhara in Gandaki Province. Speakers, deputy speakers, and secretaries of the Provincial Assemblies attended the program which centered around COVID-19 vaccination, risk communication, and community engagement. Parliamentarians were briefed on the Ministry’s upcoming plans to conduct such programs with elected officials at each province in the country. Through these programs, the Ministry of Health and Population aims to highlight the role of parliamentarians in promoting vaccine uptake, increasing public adherence to health and social measures, and in disseminating accurate and scientific information to their constituents.
